Job Description

Los Angeles-based boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Paralegal to join its team. The Litigation Paralegal will primarily work on Labor & Employment matters alongside a Senior Partner. Candidate must be a self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist attorneys in managing and organizing litigation cases from inception to resolution.

  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies.

  • Draft, edit, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including document requests, responses, and production.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of facts and assist in preparing exposure models for potential claims.

  • Assist in preparing complex motions, such as opposing class certification or summary judgment motions.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries.

  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness files, and drafting trial-related documents.

  • Coordinate deposition logistics, prepare deposition summaries, and assist during depositions.

  • Organize and maintain case files, including gathering, indexing, reviewing, and producing documents and data.

  • Manage attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, and scheduling appointments.

  • Utilize legal databases and case management systems for efficient document retrieval and tracking.

  • Track billable hours, prepare invoices, and support the billing process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Paralegal certification from an ABA Approved Institution.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four (4)+ Years of Litigation Experience from a reputable LA firm (3+ years of employment experience is the minimum requirement).
  • Understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for accurate document preparation and case management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients and legal professionals.
  • Familiarity with legal databases, case management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, legal secretaries, and support staff.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

SALARY:

$90,000 DOE

Firm offers benefits and year-end bonuses.
